Heidelberg Capsule

The Heidelberg Capsule system is a diagnostic method to determine gastric pH in real time under specific conditions of the whole intestinal tract. The capsule is swallowed by the patient and the pH environment around the capsule is continuosly measured and recorded.

Specifications:

  • pH-sensor measuring system in each capsule
  • pH-sensor with a length of 2 cm and width of 0.5 cm
  • Each capsule has a transceiver for signal transfer
  • Portable receiver for data capture and data processing
  • Real-time measurement of measured pH-curves on a computer monitor

Analysis:

  • Measurement of gastric pH after consumption of different foods

We only do research with Heidelberg capsules at our institute, we do NOT do diagnostics.
